Meet Tofuola “Tofu” Alofipo
Tofu Alofipo is a proud American, a working mother of six, a small business owner, and a real estate professional who understands firsthand what it takes to build stability in today’s economy.
Born in Savai‘i, Samoa, and raised in Hawai‘i in a large immigrant family, Tofu grew up in a home where hard work wasn’t a slogan: it was survival. Her parents worked full-time and farmed late into the night so their children could have an opportunity in America. That upbringing shaped her values: faith, personal responsibility, service to others, and the belief that if you work hard and take care of your family, you should have a fair shot at getting ahead.
Tofu later spent nearly three decades in Utah, building her career in public service and healthcare before launching into real estate and small business. For nearly 20 years, she has helped families navigate homeownership, rising costs, and uncertain markets, sitting at kitchen tables with working parents trying to stretch paychecks, and walking job sites with families who are doing everything right but still struggling to feel secure.
Today, Tofu and her husband are raising their family in Assembly District 41. Their children have attended local schools, and their life is rooted in the same daily rhythms as their neighbors: school events, church, youth sports, and the conversations that happen in carpools and on sidelines.
In those everyday moments, she hears the same concern again and again: “We’re working harder than ever, and it still feels like nothing is getting better.”
After years of watching costs rise, housing tighten, and families feel unheard, Tofu felt the need to step up.
She is not a career politician. She’s a mom and business owner with common-sense priorities who believes government should work for people, not party labels, not special interests, and not politics as usual.
The Constitution begins with “We the People” for a reason. Leadership should listen first, respect taxpayers, protect neighborhoods, and deliver results that families can actually feel in their daily lives.
Service isn’t something Tofu turns on for a campaign; it’s how she lives. Like many sports families, she and other moms help each other cover the after-school gap, assist single parents with pickups, and make sure kids have a safe place to go and something to eat. Her home has always been open. She believes strong communities are built when neighbors look out for one another and when elected leaders do the same.
In Carson City, Tofu will focus on Putting Working Families First by prioritizing:
- Lowering the cost of living and making Nevada more affordable
- Expanding housing attainability with practical, responsible solutions
- Supporting small businesses and workforce growth
- Keeping communities safe and strengthening neighborhood stability
- Expanding opportunity through education accountability and parental involvement
Tofu is running to bring grounded, community-first leadership to the Nevada Assembly—leadership shaped by faith, strengthened by real-life experience, and guided by a simple promise:
